A 30-year-old man was beaten up by locals and handed over to the police on Tuesday, after a 14-year-old girl accused him of molesting her. The accused, identified as Moharam Ali Mohammad Yusuf was arrested on Tuesday evening when the minor&rsquo;s parent lodged an FIR against him for molesting their daughter inside a car.

Yusuf works as a tourist car driver and lives in the same neighbourhood as the girl.
The incident When the girl was returning from school in the evening, the accused spotted her near Ismail Yousuf College in Jogeshwari. He approached the girl and offered to drop her home, insisting that he was heading on the same way.

When the girl sat in the car, the accused started touching her private parts and forcing himself on her. The girl, somehow, managed to escape. On reaching home, the minor girl narrated the incident to her parents, who decided to take action against Yusuf. The girl&rsquo;s parents and neighbours launched a manhunt for Yusuf, who was found near the area. The furious crowd thrashed him and then handed him over to the Jogeshwari Police.
Cop speak Senior Inspector Pardeep Kalem Jogeshwari police station, said, &ldquo;The accused has been booked under section 354 (a) 323, 506 of IPC and 4, 8 and 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offense (POCSO) Act. He was produced before the court yesterday and has been remanded to police custody.&rdquo;
