Mumbai: 74-year-old woman crushed to death in truck accident

Driver carrying govt ration was taking a turn on road bend when victim, a retired government staffer, came under his wheels

An elderly woman died after being crushed under the wheels of a loaded truck carrying government ration in Vasai on Saturday. The accused has been identified as Taufiq Shamsuddin Ahmed. The 74-year-old deceased, Parvati Narayan, lived in Chennai and was a  retired  stenographer with a Central government office in Hyderabad. Narayan was in Vasai to meet her younger sister.
