In a significant anti-encroachment operation, authorities successfully removed 80 unauthorised slum structures from the east side of Borivali, between kilometre markers 34/18 and 35/05.  Meanwhile, about 43 unauthorised slums were removed from the East side.

The drive was part of a pre-planned initiative by the Mumbai Division and was carried out through a coordinated effort involving the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Government Railway Police (GRP), and Mumbai City Police.

Demolition work was executed with the assistance of labourers under the supervision of the Engineering Department’s SSE (Works/Land). Materials such as iron sheets and bamboo from two large hutments were recovered and deposited in the departmental godown by the Inspector of Works (IOW).

The operation proceeded peacefully under tight security. A total of 110 personnel participated in the drive, including officers from the RPF, GRP, Mumbai Police, Maharashtra Security Force, and Home Guards. No law and order issues were reported.

Officials stated that the removal of these encroachments is part of an ongoing effort to protect railway land and ensure the safety and efficiency of railway operations across the network.
