Firoz Mohammad Suleman Sheikh managed to evade the law for 17 years by shifting cities, switching jobs, and changing phone numbers. However, his professional nickname 'Fitter' followed him until the Mulund Police finally apprehended him at a Titwala bar on November 3.

Brutal killing

Firoz, now 31, is wanted for the June 20, 2009 murder of Isam Masqur, 35, at a construction site near Sarojini Naidu Road in Mulund West. Masqur was bludgeoned with an iron hammer while sleeping under a blanket following an alleged workplace dispute. Firoz's brother Afroz was arrested in 2009, but Firoz went underground.
