Mumbai adds 5,956 new Covid-19 cases, 12 deaths

The recovery rate in the city improved and was at 93 per cent, with 15,551 more patients being discharged

The city continued to witness a downward trend in the daily cases and the test positivity rate (TPR). On Monday, the BMC confirmed 5,956 new cases and recorded a TPR of 12.51 per cent. Around 83 per cent of the new patients were asymptomatic.

The number of fatalities, however, remained in double digits. According to the civic body’s data, 12 deaths were confirmed on Monday and nine of the deceased had comorbidities. One patient was in the age group of 40-59 years and the remaining 11 were senior citizens.
