Mumbai air pollution: MPCB shuts four ready-mix concrete plants in MMR for violations

The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board also inspected 108 large construction sites where building work is underway. Penalties of Rs 10 lakh were imposed on two projects for violating air pollution control rules

The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) has shut down four ready-mix concrete (RMC) plants in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) after they were found violating environmental norms during inspections, reported the PTI.

The action comes as part of an intensified drive to improve air quality in Mumbai and nearby areas.
