Mumbai: Auto driver shot at by three people

An auto rickshaw driver, Salim Sheikh was allegedly shot at yesterday by unidentified persons seated in a black car at Ghatkopar-Mankhurd link road near Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College. A case under IPC section 307 (attempt to murder) has been lodged.

The incident took place when Sheikh had stopped to answer nature’s call and some unidentified assailants shot at him from a black coloured car, a senior police official said. Sheikh, a resident of Shivajinagar, sustained a bullet injury on his shoulder and was admitted in Kolekar nursing home in Ghatla area in Chembur.
