<p>A fire broke out in the battery box of a<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-best-buses-return-to-girgaons-jss-road-after-nine-years-of-metro-construction-diversions-23649594" rel="nofollow"> BEST electric bus</a> in Chembur on Sunday morning prompting the Mumbai Fire Brigade, police and BEST officials to rush to the spot.</p>
<p>According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the incident was reported at around 8:11 am on September 13 near the Kalimata Mandir, close to the RCF Monorail Station in Chembur Camp.</p>
<p>As per the officials, the fire was reported in the battery box of the electric BEST bus. The Mumbai Fire Brigade, police, BEST personnel and ward staff were mobilised following the incident.</p>
<h2>Fire extinguished at 9:34 am</h2>
<p>Officials also added that <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-fire-breaks-out-at-saraswati-bhavan-on-lamington-road-no-injuries-reported-23648589" rel="nofollow">firefighting operations</a> were carried out and the blaze was brought under control and extinguished at around 9:34 am.</p>
<p>No injuries were reported in the incident. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.</p>
<h2>Four injured after LPG cylinder catches fire in Dharavi&nbsp;</h2>
<p>In a separate incident earlier last week, Four people, including two children, suffered burn injuries after an L<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-four-injured-including-two-children-after-lpg-cylinder-catches-fire-in-dharavi-23648591" rel="nofollow">PG cylinder caught fire inside a room in Dharavi </a>early Sunday, September 6. The fire was reported from a ground-plus-two-storey structure on Sion-Dharavi Link Road in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, near Rajiv Gandhi Sports Club.&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Fire confined to LPG cylinder</h2>
<p>According to the Mumbai Fire Brigade, the fire was confined to a Bharat Gas LPG cylinder inside Room No. 43 of the building. Residents managed to extinguish the flames before fire brigade personnel arrived at the spot.</p>
<p>The incident was reported at around 1.39 am, while the fire had already been brought under control by 12.10 am, officials said.</p>
<h2>Four people suffer burn injuries</h2>
<p>Four people sustained burn injuries in the incident and were taken to Sion Hospital in a police vehicle before the fire brigade reached the location.</p>
<p>According to Dr Chaitanya, the attending medical officer at Sion Hospital, 30-year-old Poonam Jaiswal suffered 30 per cent burns. Rohan Gupta, aged five, sustained 5 per cent burns, while four-year-old Rudra Gupta suffered 8 per cent burns. Parvati Gandhari, 19, sustained 15 per cent burns.</p>
<p>All four injured persons were admitted to Sion Hospital for treatment.</p>
<p>Fire brigade, police and BEST respond</p>
<p>The Mumbai Fire Brigade, police and BEST personnel were mobilised following the incident. Fire brigade officials confirmed that the flames had been extinguished and that the fire did not spread beyond the LPG cylinder.</p>
<p>The circumstances that led to the cylinder catching fire are yet to be ascertained. Further details are awaited</p>
