Following the BEST bus accident in Mankhurd, earlier on July 20, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has launched a special safety sensitisation and training programme for around 5,200 wet lease bus drivers to strengthen road safety and reduce accidents across Mumbai's public transport network.
As per the official statement, the decision was taken after a special meeting of all wet lease operators held on July 24, 2026, where BEST officials discussed measures to improve driving standards and enhance passenger safety.
