Mumbai: BEST starts air-conditioned electric buses on 4 routes

BEST spokesperson Manoj Varade said the changes were being done as per the suggestions and requests from commuters.

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) on Monday started air-conditioned, environment-friendly and non-polluting electric buses on four South Mumbai routes.

BEST spokesperson Manoj Varade told Mid-Day that the changes were being done as per the suggestions and requests from commuters. The bus routes have also been renumbered, he said.


The four routes are:



- CSMT to Backbay depot bus route 138 will now be air-conditioned and will run as A-138. The first bus from CSMT will be at 6.05 am and the last bus at 11.42 pm.

- Backbay depot and Sewree bus route number 134 will now run as A-134 AC bus service. The first bus from Backbay will be at 5.25 am and the last one will be available at 8.35 pm.

- RC Church to Kamala Nehru Park route number 106 will now run as A-106 AC bus. The first bus from R C Church will be at 6.05 am and the last bus at 8.40 pm from Monday to Saturday.

- Navy Nagar and Churchgate bus route number 137 will now run as A-137. The first bus from Navy Nagar will be at 6.30 am and the last bus at 10.50 pm.
