<p>Amid rising Covid-19 cases in Mumbai, Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray on Sunday said that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has changed its reporting method. &nbsp;</p>
<p>Taking to Twitter, Thackeray said, in the past two days, BMC has changed the reporting method by adding number of asymptomatic patients, hospital beds, oxygen beds being occupied to avoid unnecessary panic.</p>

<p>&ldquo;Fear and panic kept aside, extreme caution and Covid Appropriate Behaviour is a must as we are in the midst of the third wave,&rdquo; he further said in the tweet.</p>
<p>He also said that the BMC shall receive positive reports from labs twice in a day and release reports of everyone tested in previous day, early morning so that the symptomatic patients get assistance at the earliest.</p>
<p>Mumbai recorded a 27 per cent rise in daily Covid-19 cases, with the BMC confirming 8,063 new ones on Sunday. The test positivity rate further increased to 17 per cent. The state-wide Coronavirus tally rose to 11,877 cases.&nbsp;</p>
<p>Out of 8063, 7176 were asymptomatic. 503 patients were hospitalized and 56 were on oxygen support on Sunday. Of the total number of hospital beds available, 10 per cent were occupied.</p>

<p>A total of 1,700 cases of Omicron variant of coronavirus have been detected across 23 states and Union Territories so far, out of which 639 have recovered or migrated, according to the Union health ministry's data updated on Monday.</p>
<p>Maharashtra has recorded the maximum number of 510 cases, followed by Delhi (351), Kerala (156), Gujarat (136), Tamil Nadu (121) and Rajasthan (120).</p><p>
