The BMC’s decision to have a day dedicated to vaccinating women has been receiving an overwhelming response. More women, especially lactating mothers, pregnant women and those between the age group of 45-59, have been coming forward to get vaccinated.
As per BMC data, a total of 1,07,934 women took the vaccine shots during the walk-in drive. Suresh Kakani, additional municipal commissioner, said, “We observed that women usually prefer to go to vaccination camps near their home or to a place where the process is more streamlined and where they do not have to wait. We therefore, arranged this once a week walk-in facility for them. It has worked well.”
