A proosal to start 10 more Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools from the academic year 2021-2022 was sanctioned in the education committee meeting of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday. Last year, the corporation had started a CBSE school in Jogeshwari and an ICSE school in Mahim.
“Though the response was good for both the schools, education officers and parents feel the curriculum of the CBSE is simpler than ICSE. So we will start more schools of CBSE pattern. We will definitely start schools of other education boards in coming years,” said Sainath Durge, member of BMC’s education committee.
