Mumbai: Calf stuck inside drain pulled out after 4-hour rescue operation

Fire brigade, units of solid waste management, stormwater drain and disaster management depts broke chamber, dug a pit to pull out the animal

A calf that fell into a drainage chamber near Kabutarkhana in Dadar West, at 6.30 am on Monday, was rescued safely after a four-hour-long operation.

The fire brigade, along with units of solid waste management, stormwater drainage and disaster management departments broke the chamber and dug a pit 5.5 feet deep. The team tied a rope around the animal and pulled it out safely. The calf was handed over to the owner after giving it basic first aid.
