Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) on Thursday night announced cancellation of several long-distance trains, including August Kranti Rajdhani Express, citing poor occupancy till June end.
While 26 pairs of trains, have been cancelled on CR, about eight trains have been cancelled on WR.

“Some of these trains had been cancelled or restricted till May 10 and now their cancellations have been extended till June-end,” CR spokesperson said.
“Due to reduction in passenger numbers in view of the pandemic situation, some trains have been cancelled and frequency of other special trains have been reduced till further advice,” a WR spokesperson said.
