The incident was reported at 5:56 AM and involved a 30x30 feet load-bearing structure made of MS and ACC sheets. The collapse occurred at Chawl No. 37, Bharat Nagar, within the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) area. Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) officials confirmed the structure's complete failure, leading to an ongoing rescue operation at the site.

The Level-II emergency prompted the mobilisation of multiple agencies, including the MFB, Mumbai Police, MHADA, PWD, Adani electricity staff, and building department officials.
