It started as a woeful Wednesday morning for lakhs of Western Railway (WR) commuters as the situation between Andheri and Vile Parle continued to remain pathetic.
While the WR authorities were busy in restoration - which is expected to be on track by 9am - train services suffered severely.
"We are trying our best to rectify and start the services by 9 am," said a WR official.

In the morning, trains were running late by 45 minutes or more, and the crowd began&nbsp;swelling&nbsp;inside trains and platforms as the peak hours started.
The authorities not only had to remove the 7 derailed coaches but also replace the overhead cables, its metal frames, and uprooted tracks.
During the night, they undertook a 2-hour block, during which all services were shut.
