Thoroughbred theatre As the Mumbai racing season gallops towards the finish line, the curtain simultaneously falls on another, much shorter, season at the Mahalaxmi Race Course &mdash; the week-long Theatre at the Turf at the Royal Western India Turf Club.

In association with the iconic Prithvi Theatre, RWITC set up a temporary amphitheatre at the members&rsquo; lawns specially for the performances. Peru, via Mumbai The city will soon groove to lively sounds from Peru, performed by Stringing Beats in association with Artist Aloud. The two-piece band formed by Amilo D&rsquo;Cruz and Amrut C (left, in pic), strings together vocal and guitar in the Blues and Rock &amp; Roll style fused with crisp Peruvian percussion.

&ldquo;I have been playing with different bands since 2005. In 2006, I teamed up with Amrut who has a percussion background,&rdquo; says guitarist and vocalist Amilo D&rsquo;Cruz, adding that Amrut plays the Djembe and Doumbek in the African style, Cajon in the Peruvian style along with the tabla.
In their performance, he brings to the table an interesting blend of music from different cultures.
