The newest community in the city is raising the bar, quite literally. If you&rsquo;re shorter than six feet, you can only dream of being part of writer and comedian Viraj Pradhan&rsquo;s new community-support group for tall people, aptly titled Tall se Tall Mila.

&ldquo;I suffer from a condition called &lsquo;being tall&rsquo;. Legroom is never enough, and I can rarely find shoes my size,&rdquo; he quipped. The community (@generictallguy) plans to meet and share experiences, lifehacks, and form new bonds. Talk about having friends in high places.

The guestlist at <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/maharashtra-governor-seeks-smaller-security-convoy-after-pm-modis-fuel-saving-appeal-23630417" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma&rsquo;s </a>residence in Malabar Hill could&rsquo;ve put the city&rsquo;s biggest cultural gatherings to shame. Mohan Agashe, Aanjjan Srivastav and daughter Ranjana Aanjjan, Rohini Hattangadi, Ila Arun, and K K Raina, among other film and theatre veterans converged for a special showcase of snippets from Mohammad Ali Baig&rsquo;s upcoming feature film, Chand Tara, set in the Qutub Shahi era in Hyderabad.

One could join the dots to Varma&rsquo;s previous stint as Governor of Telangana. &ldquo;He is deeply interested in culture, and is eagerly looking forward to the release of the movie. Fingers crossed,&rdquo; said Ranjana Aanjjan, who plays the central role in the film.

Albert Einstein was right.<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai-guide/things-to-do/article/mahatma-gandhi-death-anniversary-attend-this-unique-exhibition-to-learn-more-about-the-father-of-the-nation-23473836" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener"> Mahatma Gandhi</a> continues to astound. It is no surprise that a document of his thoughts was valued at a record-breaking Rs 16.20 crore at Saffronart&rsquo;s recently concluded auction, Gandhi: From the Collection of Anand T Hingorani.

The collection, preserved by the family of freedom fighter and Gandhi&rsquo;s close associate, Anand T Hingorani, included A Thought for the Day, comprising 688 dated reflections written by the national icon.&nbsp;

After Bandra&rsquo;s Border Bean Barbecue closed its doors nearly a year ago, we were glad to hear a new Lower Parel venue is now firing up its grills. Founder chef Shantanu Jagtap calls the new venture &ldquo;bold, smoky, meaty and delicious.&rdquo; If you plan to head down to the barbecue spot, ask for the chef&rsquo;s favourite Pork Belly Burnt Ends with Bacon Bourbon.
