Actor Riteish Deshmukh’s antics got the giggles out of a woman dressed in traditional Japanese attire who was part of the opening ensemble for an Asian restaurant at a Juhu five-star over the weekend.
Want a slice of this action? Seated in front of the telly, we’re enjoying the many hues of green at Wimbledon, and choosing to ignore a few oddball styles for women players.

And so, even as the tournament moves into its second week, the folks in Oz, we mean the organisers of the Australian Open, are already out with a video inviting interested people to sign up for vacancies for 2017’s first Grand Slam.
Hires included calls for Ballkids Operations, Court Services, Player Services, Retail and Scoring Operations. Ready to sweat it out Down Under?
Invite innovation: A different kind of bill Euros, Yuans, Dirhams, Bahts and Dollars. A look at the invite for Kaboom’s new outpost in Kamala Mills made us chuckle on a grey working weekend. Innovative as they come, the invite arrived in a box and was wrapped in comic book-themed storyboard.

Inside, along with details of the venue were mock currency bills of different countries with caricatures and fun copy. We’d love to see whether the new entrant in the already-packed Kamala Mills complex stays afloat, and creates a ‘boom’.

The Indian restaurant chain, with an outlet in the residential precinct of Al Karama in Dubai, will soon launch home deliveries and catering services. According to sources, they’ve found a sprawling place and will be ready to open for business. When we contacted Hassan Mansuri of Jaffer Bhai’s Delhi Darbar last weekend, he seemed reluctant to reveal details. Without denying the news, he said, “It’s too early to speak about the news.”
We’re unsure if this reluctance to share details had anything to do with the fact that the other Delhi Darbar also operates in Al Karama in Dubai, and is managed by another faction of the same family. The family had split in the early 2000s, and that side of the family runs Delhi Darbar in Dubai.
Shaan and the Scorpions We hit flashback mode when we spotted this photo posted by musician Shaan with wife, Radhika at a Scorpions’ concert.

Rewind to late 1990s. Urban India was hooked by the music video, and everyone from Baba Saigal to the Backstreet Boys dabbled with the format.
German band, Scorpions were a hit with desi audiences with their rock ballads while Shaan and twin sister Sagorika were known for their fun, frothy sounds. A reunion of a different kind, this.
Paulo Coelho in Malayalam Fans of Paulo Coelho must be waiting for The Spy that will release in November. The true story of Mata Hari will be brought to life by the master storyteller who will chart the feminist’s life in first- person narrative.

While the book will be translated into several languages; interestingly, the lone Indian language into which it will be translated is not Hindi, Bengali or Tamil, but Malayalam.
