Dutt's the family guy Sanjay Dutt was spotted with wife Maanyata, son, Shahraan and daughter, Iqra when they stepped out to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary at a restaurant in Bandra Kurla complex yesterday.
The other Nana His roundel is an element on the façade of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj (formerly Victoria) Terminus, yet most passersby might not be able to spot him or his contribution towards the city's civic growth. Thanks to some of our heritage supporters, we learnt that last weekend - on February 10 - was the 215th birth anniversary of Jagannath Shankarseth.

The Maharashtrian philanthropist played a key role in setting up the Great Indian Peninsular Railway (GIPR). In fact, he and Sir Jamsetjee Jeejeebhoy were the only two Indians among the 10 directors of the GIPR. He was also instrumental in key projects, including the Dr Bhau Daji Lad Museum and the Asiatic Society of Bombay.
A leading voice for progress in the city, history books reveal that he was an advocate of banning sati and other anti-women practices. In these times, we could sure do with more of his ilk and belief.
A beery good response to Mr Parrikar In a matter of hours after the news about Goa CM Manohar Parrikar's (inset) views on girls who drink beer - "I have begun to fear now, because even the girls have started drinking beer" were the words he spoke at the State Youth Parliament - surfaced over the weekend, Twitter erupted into a collage of brews of all hues and makes.

Women took to the site using #GirlsWhoDrinkBeer and posted pictures of themselves flaunting their favourite pint. Senior journalist Harinder Baweja captioned her photo saying Parrikar's comments were patriarchal and sexist, while poet and novelist Meena Kandasamy (in pic) shared this happy frame, simply stating which brew was her favourite was.

Some even went on to post shots of themselves sipping on beer by the sandy beaches of Goa, bringing out the irony of how a significant chunk of the state's revenues emerge from liquor sale. And then there were those who put up sweet family frames of father-daughter drinking sessions. That's one high-spirited example of subversion we haven't come across in the recent times.
Enough is enough In August 2017, a young girl from Chandigarh, Varnika Kundu, was scrutinised by the entire country for standing up against a powerful politician. Kundu registered a case of stalking against the son of a politician who harassed her at midnight when she was driving alone.

A new video as part of a campaign to end violence against women, titled Bas Ab Bahut Ho Gaya, by Population Foundation of India, tells the story of Kundu to encourage more women and families to speak up against violence. The country definitely needs more Varnikas, and parents like hers.
Nucleya's got a strong connect Hordes of music fans from across the country descended in Pune to listen to a galaxy of international stars at the VH1 Supersonic festival held over last weekend. But they also showed so much love for one of Indian eletronica's mainstays, Nucleya, that the DJ was overcome with emotion, gushing about the "beautiful atmosphere" at his gig on Friday.

In fact, he was so taken in by all the affection that he did something no artiste in our knowledge has ever done at a music festival in the country. He took some of them around the venue, showing them the different activities being held there, such as a flea market and beer garden, as if he wasn't a performer but one of the organisers of the festival. Talk about connecting with your fans.
