Some even went on to post shots of themselves sipping on beer by the sandy beaches of Goa, bringing out the irony of how a significant chunk of the state's revenues emerge from liquor sale. And then there were those who put up sweet family frames of father-daughter drinking sessions. That's one high-spirited example of subversion we haven't come across in the recent times.

A new video as part of a campaign to end violence against women, titled Bas Ab Bahut Ho Gaya, by Population Foundation of India, tells the story of Kundu to encourage more women and families to speak up against violence. The country definitely needs more Varnikas, and parents like hers.

But they also showed so much love for one of Indian eletronica's mainstays, Nucleya, that the DJ was overcome with emotion, gushing about the "beautiful atmosphere" at his gig on Friday.

In fact, he was so taken in by all the affection that he did something no artiste in our knowledge has ever done at a music festival in the country.
