Award-winning photographer, Dimpy Bhalotia turns her lens to India&rsquo;s indie dogs in a new series shot across Mumbai and other cities.

Drawn to their quiet presence, she captures them as part of the street&rsquo;s everyday life rather than separate from it. The images are candid, shaped by timing and instinct more than planning.

&ldquo;They don&rsquo;t perform or pretend, they <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-diary-wednesday-dossier-23617128" rel="nofollow">simply exist</a>, and in that there is a kind of honesty we don&rsquo;t always see,&rdquo; said Bhalotia. Mumbai will lose one of its few thermocol recycling units as 5RCycle shuts its plant in Malad due to high costs and poor returns.

Of the millions of people inspired by the recent Artemis II mission, we took note of a children&rsquo;s theatre group Small Tales. Speaking about their own little mission; &nbsp;Mission Joy, the co-founder of MYNA Academy of Performing Art, Arti Havaldar (right) tells us, &ldquo;It was a play about unhappy/gloomy aliens who came to Earth from a planet called Sad Planet, to find happiness.

It was a magnificent show that celebrated our students and their teachers.&rdquo; The houseful play that took place on April 17 at Balgandharva Rangmandir Auditorium in Bandra West, saw the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-diary-thursday-dossier-23613125?button=next" rel="nofollow">participation</a> of kids as young as five years old.

At just 22, Hetii Desai, a Mumbai-based creator, has spun her fandom into a full-blown anthem for the Mumbai Indians, titled A New Mumbai Anthem. It was written, sung and shot across the city in a matter of days by her and composer Jagdish Vaswani. &ldquo;My dad is a CSK fan; my mum loves RCB, and I ended up loving Mumbai Indians because of my love for bowling and, in a way, Jasprit Bumrah,&rdquo; Desai told this diarist.
