Dadar (Central) station&rsquo;s Platform 12 has been getting a festive brush-up, thanks to solo artist Neeraj Singh (below). For the past three years, Singh has painted <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/photo/ganesh-chaturthi-2026-special-in-photos-take-a-look-at-lalbaugcha-rajas-iconic-looks-from-2011-to-2025-112831/1" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Lalbaugcha Raja-inspired murals</a> on the platform wall, changing the artwork with the pandal&rsquo;s annual theme. This year, Lord Shiva&rsquo;s massive eyes take centre stage.

Singh took two days to complete the mural, with friends helping him find sponsors. &ldquo;I feel happy when I see commuters take a moment from their fast-paced movement to view it,&rdquo; he told this diarist. The mural has also found its way onto social media, with commuters tagging Singh whenever it is damaged. Dadar remains the only <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-local-train-update-central-railway-to-operate-night-traffic-and-power-blocks-between-palasdhari-and-khopoli-for-two-months-from-sept-18-23650331" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Central Mumbai station</a> with this Ganesh-themed wall art.

There were no art school rules when Third Bell Studios marked MF Husain&rsquo;s birthday, on September 17, giving the evening a colourful spin with brushes, films, and stories. The four-hour session saw participants across age groups try their hand at Husain&rsquo;s iconic horse while exploring his visual language.

Artist and production designer Sukant Panigrahy, who worked on Gaja Gamini (2000), shared memories from the film, alongside an interactive session and screenings, including Through the Eyes of a Painter (1967). &ldquo;People felt so relaxed while painting,&rdquo; said founder Mohit Agarwal. Co-founder Shashank Gupta added, &ldquo;The idea was to take inspiration from MF Husain&rsquo;s paintings using our own creativity.&rdquo;

For a generation that grew up waiting for letters from Hogwarts, Harry Potter is getting a nostalgic new look. Harry Potter and the Philosopher&rsquo;s Stone will return in a brand-new TV tie-in edition on November 3, with Bloomsbury bringing the edition to readers in India.

Featuring cover photography from HBO&rsquo;s upcoming series, this edition arrives ahead of the series premiere around Christmas 2026. The jacket (left)may be new, but the childhood magic remains untouched, with JK Rowling&rsquo;s original story preserved down to the last letter.&nbsp;

All Batman fans were on high alert as cars decked out in the superhero&rsquo;s signature yellow-and-black colours took to SoBo for Batman Day (September 19). The cars paraded in a single, evenly spaced line, with the iconic Batman logo emblazoned on luggage carriers atop. Gotham may be fictional, but Batman fans in Mumbai certainly got the memo spot-on.
