Trees will be the topic of discussion as Project 88 turns 20. Celebrating the milestone, a two-part project by Prajna Desai titled Never Was a Shade will open on May 14. Part one will feature artists like Bansri Chavda, Claire Baker, Debabatra Hazra, Nisha Manavi, among other notable names. Gallerist Sree Goswami (below) told this diarist, &ldquo;The exhibition worked out quite serendipitously &mdash; my personal collection has many tree-related works, something I am passionate about. When Prajna approached me, it perfectly dovetailed with our twentieth-year programming.&rdquo;

Die-hard city folks, rejoice. Conductor Zubin Mehta now has his stamp on something many Mumbaikars covet &mdash; a piece of real estate in The Capital. The conductor&rsquo;s likeness is part of a special mural commissioned by the Embassy of Israel in <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/delhi-lawyers-on-strike-paralyse-judiciary-18101167" rel="nofollow">New Delhi</a> to memorialise his cultural connection to the country.

Commissioned almost a year ago, the mural designed by the Delhi-based art platform Imagenation Street Art, was released at the Lodhi Art District last weekend. Mehta began his journey with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in 1969, going on to become its Music Director for Life. No wonder then, that the mural depicts him amidst his favourite activity.&nbsp;

Now, this headline might cause a flutter in the swish circles of SoBo. The Kamalnayan Bajaj Gallery is playing host to Transit Tales: Nalasopara, a week-long interdisciplinary exhibition about the role of shared auto rickshaws in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Hosted by The Mumbai Living Lab, SPARC, PRISM, Columbia University, and Columbia Global Center Mumbai, the conversations witnessed Columbia University scholar, Dr Jacqueline Klopp, Aneerudha Paul, head of Mumbai Living Lab, as well as auto drivers, and residents shared principal investigator Alex Kandathil. &ldquo;It is not all talk. We also have the hip-hop group BombayLokal performing, alongside art,&rdquo; he added.

For artist Jazyl Homavazir, the ComicCon weekend was one of celebration. The 2026 edition of the convention in Mumbai saw the artist take his latest edition of his ongoing Beast Legion series to fans. &ldquo;This is Volume four of the series,&rdquo; shared Homavazir.

The Manga comic follows the journey of Prince Xeus seeking to free his homeland with the help of the Beasts of Lithopia, the artist himself was excited about the reception of comic enthusiasts. &ldquo;While the chapters are already online, I bring these editions exclusively to <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/entertainment/bollywood-news/article/mumbai-comic-con-2026-sidharth-malhotra-tamannaah-bhatia-vvan-launch-graphic-novel-23629664" rel="nofollow">ComicCon</a> for audiences,&rdquo; he told this diarist.&nbsp;
