<p>Tanjore has moved a tad closer to the cradle of the &nbsp;Sahyadris this month, thanks to restaurateur Kishore DF. After wooing patrons in Mumbai and Goa, the Tanjore Tiffin Room opened a new outpost in Pune&rsquo;s Balewadi High Street earlier this week. It&rsquo;s a homecoming of sorts for Kishore DF, who spent his formative years as a student in the city. Helmed by chef de cuisine Krish Shah, the aroma of Chettinad pepper, slow-cooked Madras curries, and ghee-drenched idlis has already started wafting from the kitchen, we learnt. Patrons will also be in for a meeting with Thalaiva, the potent rum-based cocktail that got tipplers talking when the Mumbai outpost opened its doors. Needless to say, mind it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>What makes you think Thor cannot be made in India? Westland Books&rsquo; new imprint, Lattis, is dedicated to comic adaptations of Indian mythologies. A collaboration with the French Embassy and the French Institute in India, Lattis is a project that seeks to platform works that establish the connection between text and image, as well as with the larger community of readers, and artists. The first run of the imprint will focus on 24 artists, 24 stories, through 24 comics.</p>
<p>The focus on retelling Indian myths will start at the inaugural workshop, India Comics Project, at Bengaluru on July 24. Amruta Patil (Kari, Adi Parva) will join Appupen (Halahala Stories), Daniele Pasin, David Prudhomme, Pierre Dawance, Simon Lamouret, and Sonia D&eacute;champs will step up as mentors.</p>

<p>Despite the task before them, a brave generation has protested with humour, with sass, style, and art. For illustrator and artist, Prajakta Kedare, it stems from the Constitution of India. &ldquo;I grew up in Siddharth Colony, Chembur, and have been witness to protests since I was a child. The fights for basic necessities from water, roads, and health have been part of my growing up years. So, I recognise and understand the students&rsquo; reaction. But eventually, everything emerges from the Constitution of India.&rdquo;</p>
<p>This was the reason it became the centrepiece, while the assembly of students stood between the book and injustice. &ldquo;People can argue against it, or refuse it, but the right to protest is enshrined in our Constitution. It is the fundamental document that protects your right to question anyone. I thought it necessary to remind ourselves of that privilege,&rdquo; Kedare said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Not every day does an Ernest Hemingway tale come to life in Mumbai. For Gaurav Patil, meeting marine researcher and co-founder of Marine Life of Mumbai, Pradip Patade, felt close. On August 8. Patil&rsquo;s short film on Patade, Ohoti: When the Tide Recedes, will premiere at the 3D Auditorium of the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Botanical Udyan and Zoo. &ldquo;I have wanted to make a film on him for a long time. Recently, I worked on Beyond the Conflict with the Forest Department. It was only after seeing it that he was convinced that we could be objective. Ohoti covers the span of the three Spring Tide Days, and how the sea and his mind operate,&rdquo; Patil told us.&nbsp;</p>
