<h2>Performing their gender</h2>
Non-binary artist Durga Gawde, who is a well-known sculptor, presented a performance art piece titled I Have Arrived at the Under 25 Summit, which was held at the Jayamahal Palace Hotel in Bengaluru recently. Gawde explored their relationship with their body and their discomfort with their breasts, as a trans person. The perfromance started with them being covered with reams of white fabric, about 250 metres of it.

"The fabric represents all the societal shackles that are imposed on us trans folk," they said. Gawde interacted with people through their movements all through the piece, which got a standing ovation.

"The idea behind I Have Arrived stemmed from the fact that I am tired of explaining my gender and my sexuality to people. I don't want to use words to justify my existence," they added. The video is going to be released by Gawde soon, in collaboration with Mindist Media. You can follow them on @durgagawdestudio.
<h2>A royal tipple</h2>
Last week, IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore announced the launch of a new RCB bar and cafe in an Instagram teaser.

Turns out, they've roped in Mumbai's favourite restaurant designer Sumessh Menon to helm the space. "It's going to be a sophisticated, high-energy restobar keeping the clientele in mind," said Menon in a call from Bengaluru. "But, it doesn't scream RCB. It's very subtle. You can also expect the best of cocktails because it's owned by alcohol producer, Diageo." Amen to that.
<h2>Bhagat, the topper</h2>
One would think that bestselling author Chetan Bhagat would go out of fashion. But not really. While his books may not have had the critics glowing, the writer has always had fans by his side. His last book, The Girl in Room 105 (Westland), which released in October 2018, continues to be on the Top 10 of the Nielsen BookScan in the fiction category, over 70 weeks since it released.

"Chetan has an uncanny ability to anticipate the curve before the curve forms, especially when it comes to the preoccupations and aspirations of young India," says Gautam Padmanabhan, CEO, of Westland Ltd, on why he continues to be such a hit. Bhagat himself took to Twitter to share the feat, but not before letting his fans know that "there's something even more special coming in May 2020".
<h2>Not so fruitful in Kiwiland</h2>
The Basin Reserve where the opening cricket Test between India and New Zealand is being played, makes for a picturesque venue like most grounds in Kiwiland. But it's not been a pretty happy hunting ground for India, who have managed only one victory out of seven Tests there. That triumph came way back in the 1967-68 series when Ajit Wadekar's one and only Test ton along with Erapalli Prasanna's eight-wicket haul contributed to a memorable win.

Prasanna was also in the team when India played at the Basin for the second time eight years later in 1976. This time, the master off-spinner went wicketless, but had the honour of leading India even though he was not the vice-captain.
We'll tell you how. Bishan Singh Bedi, the regular captain suffered from tonsillitis and had to be away from the action on the third day. When his deputy Sunil Gavaskar took over, he was hit on the cheek by a Lance Cairns shot while fielding close to the bat. Gavaskar had to be hospitalised to set his cheekbone right, forcing senior pro Prasanna to lead the team. So, in the space of an hour, India were led by three captains! The series ended 1-1 after the Kiwis won by an innings and 33 runs.
<h2>A decade's worth</h2>
Amidst his many tweets and retweets, you may have missed this one from Anurag Kashyap, announcing that his Gangs Of Wasseypur has made it to the list of the best films of the decade by the International Cinephile Society.

This is the only Indian film to have made it to the list of 100. Kashyap's Wasseypur series, which catapulted a lot of filming careers and also made it to The Guardian's list of the 100 best films of the 21st century.
