A pathani for every Eid As the holy month of Ramzan draws to a close, faithful Muslims make a beeline for the many stalls selling pathanis and kurtas across Bhendi Bazaar and Mohammed Ali Road.

It is customary for Muslims to don new clothing to offer the morning Eid-ul-Fitr prayers. Retailing at R600-2,000, these temporary stalls offer a variety of styles, colours and materials that are often copies from a pathani worn by one of the Khans of Bollywood in a recent masala flick.
And, the most enthusiastic customers are the teenagers and pre-teens who want the exact outfit and matching accessories as their celluloid hero. The fad seems to be a money-spinner for the vendors. Eid Mubarak to one and all.
It&rsquo;s all in the eyes Actor Ranveer Singh is never without tricks up his sleeve. The latest from his bag, is a Dubsmash video. The video, where Singh is dressed up as Pakistani singer Taher Shah, has him lip-sync to Shah&rsquo;s viral track, Eye to Eye.

The video is a response to actor Hrithik Roshan&rsquo;s birthday wish to the Singh where Roshan got him to outdo the wacky song.

If winning with corruption becomes ok, the game is nowhere.&rdquo; He continued, &ldquo;That will cause demise of Tests. The new age cricketer is now an independent contractor no loyalty to any team or indeed country. Good for the players bank balance, but in the long term, sad for cricket, I think.&rdquo; Well said, Sir.
A very heady affair Call it thinking with a cool head. Or, having your helmet-shod head on your shoulders. Whatever you wish, actually. Yet, one is heartened that there are still concerted efforts to ensure safety of two-wheel riders and the message wear a helmet is being constantly reinforced.

These two pictures in two different parts of the city, one in SoBo and the other venue, which was in Thane, show that the wear a helmet drive (pun intended) still has some steam. Having said that, one has to add that riders need to take the onus for their safety. After all, like they say, the helmet rule may be made by the cops, but the head is yours.
