Shraddha&rsquo;s got a new friend We&rsquo;ve heard her sing (full marks for melodious extempore) in the past on the telly. So, going by this post, we assume this new indulgence might have something to do with it, perhaps.

Shraddha Kapoor tweeted yesterday of her new &ldquo;friend&rdquo;, the guitar, and spending time with it before her shoot for an upcoming film. We&rsquo;re waiting to see how she and her new friend jam in the much-anticipated flick.

Aloknath, really? While we might have glossed over The Usual Place, a new restaurant that opens doors in Navi Mumbai later this week, as just another watering hole in the satellite city, its unusual cocktail menu piqued our interest in a flash.

Apart from champagne and beer-infused cocktails, and a tamarind pulp-tequila concoction (Tamarind Margarita), it also offers the quirky-sounding Cardamom Aloknath that&rsquo;s made with vodka, pineapple and cardamom. Curious, we checked if it was a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the sanskari babuji a.k.a actor Alok Nath.
Turns out, the drink is dedicated to their head bartender, Aloknath! We&rsquo;re surely planning a visit to sip on this one. And, meet Aloknath in person.
Sufi songs for the soul Last weekend, Sufi lovers in the city were in for a treat. Performing 14 songs in six languages, including Kashmiri, Urdu, Farsi and Punjabi, as well as narratives in English and Hindi, the three-member Sounds of the Sufis shared stories of the lives and messages of 12 mystics including Amir Khusrau, Rumi, Kabir and Meera.

Their act was devised after a 10-day road trip from Mumbai to Delhi, where the trio stopped at numerous Sufi shrines including ones at Ajmer, Fatehpur Sikhri, Jama Masjid and Vrindavan.
Frog out. Toit in Word on the street is that popular Mumbai live music performance club, blueFrog will be relocating soon.
Their landmark venue at Mathuradas Compound in Lower Parel, which has been synonymous with some of Mumbai&rsquo;s best indie and international gigs, will be replaced by Bengaluru&rsquo;s popular Indira Nagar brewery, Toit.
Although, folks at the venue declined to officially comment on their plans, a birdie confirmed talks between Toit and the Frog about the big move. We&rsquo;ll be keeping a close watch.
Squash-a-smile! The fifth Squash-a-Mile for VCare 2016 will be back at the Bombay Gymkhana squash courts on August 7 that brings together charity, fitness and squash. What is heartwarming is that it is helmed by young squash players, Rohaan Advani, Chaitanya Shah and Diya Sanghi.
The proceeds of the event will go to V Care Foundation, a 20-year NGO that supports cancer. At this event, each person will either run or walk the 165 squash court lengths (approximately one mile) at their pace and pledge a fixed sum of money, or pledge an amount per length run at the squash court (could be any amount you decide per length run).
For those who feel 165 lengths of the court is too much, chill. Instead, you can pledge from Rs 25, Rs 50, Rs 75 to Rs 100 or even Rs 500 per length. Clearly, a great initiative where cardiovascular activity and charity come together for cancer.

The caption in yesterday&rsquo;s daily dossier wrongly identified the kids. The one in the treehole is Amrita Arora&rsquo;s son Rayaan, while his older brother, Azaan is second from right, beside Sohail&rsquo;s son, Nirvaan. The error is regretted.
