Last weekend, we tried riceberry rice, currently hailed as a superfood in Thailand, at celebrated Thai chef Nooror Somany Steppe and daughter Sandra&rsquo;s cooking session conducted at a spa retreat, two hours from Mumbai. Cooked with coconut milk, the sticky-sweetish purple-pigmented Thai rice is said to be a rich source of antioxidants, bran oil and fibre.
&ldquo;It has a lot of health benefits, especially to fight diabetes and weight gain. I also cook it with coconut water since it helps fight Alzheimer&rsquo;s and is a detox agent,&rdquo; said the affable Steppe Senior, who, by the way, is a huge fan of Indian food, which she savours at Fort&rsquo;s seafood landmark, Trishna.
