Besides Majaw, the day-long cultural fest celebrating North East featured a variety of artistes from the region, including Manipuri artiste Guru Rewben Mashangva, Assamese Folk singer Dolly Das, contemporary bands like Omak Komut Collective and The Vinyl Records. The guests were also enthralled by traditional Folk dances and delectable fare from the region.

On September 3, Pune&rsquo;s Turf Club Ball Room is all set to host a group of singing doctors from Mumbai, in a programme called The Tuning Folks.
Those who have their fingers burnt at the betting windows may need some singing salvation to heal the wounds of their wallets. For these docs, all specialists, singing is the best medicine.
Desi bass in the desert Desi bass music producer Su Real alias Suhrid Manchanda demonstrated a snippet of his new album Twerkistan through the release of the title track as a music video.

The song also features Delhi-based vocalist Tanya Nambiar on vocals. The video, directed by Satyarth Shaurya Singh, is set in the desert and tells the story of the Sultan of Twerkistan. &ldquo;From the word go, I wanted an anthemic title track for Twerkistan, and an epic video (see below) to accompany it.
The song evoked imagery of the desert, dunes and dust in my mind as the lyrics tell the story of the Sultan of Twerkistan, exiled from his sovereignty, on an epic quest to reclaim his throne,&rdquo; says Su Real, who will start his pre-album tour in October. He will also accompany Nucleya on a pan-India tour when the latter launches his second album Raja Baja in September.
