Six years after Disha Salian’s death, her father Satish Salian is set to personally serve a fresh defamation notice on Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray at his Matoshree residence on Saturday, September 19. Salian has informed Mumbai Police and the media (copy of press release is with mid-day) that he and his lawyers will reach residence at 4 pm and have sought adequate security, citing apprehension of obstruction or intimidation while serving the notice.
The move comes days after the Bombay High Court ordered a CBI probe into Disha’s death and directed the agency to register an FIR. The CBI subsequently registered the case after recording a fresh statement from her father. The High Court had also made it clear that no person should be treated as an accused unless sufficient material emerges during the investigation.
