While Mumbai is known for the high number of diabetics, Covid-19 and its treatment are leading to a further jump in cases. City doctors are seeing in what they term as ‘Covid-19 diabetes’.
Rita Das, 61, a Mulund resident, was surprised when doctors treating her for Covid-19 said she has uncontrolled blood sugar levels and put her on insulin. Das was diabetes-free before Covid-19.
