The Mumbai Police has suspended the constable who was seen in a video recorded by a local, getting drunk in public, assaulting and molesting a eunuch, and terrorising passers-by for two hours on a busy road in Malwani, a stone’s throw from police beat chowky-4 at Marve Road on May 14. The constable, identified as Laxman Shrirang Mandre, batch No22340 who is around 50 years of age was attached with the local arms unit IV of Marol police, Reserve company no 15. mid-day had reported the story on May 16. The DCP of the local arms unit, Jagdish Tayade has confirmed the suspension.
