A major fire broke out in a garments factory in Goregaon early today morning. But since the factory was shut on Sunday, no casualties were reported.
The fire broke out in Goregaon&rsquo;s Cama Industrial Estate, Wallbutt Road at around 5 am. The fire brigade got a call around 5.45 am, following which four fire engines and five water tankers were sent to the spot.

It is a basement + ground + 2 storey building. The fire was confined to the basement and ground floor. Clothing, furniture, wooden boxes, electric wiring, packing material got burnt.
&ldquo;Thankfully, there was nobody inside when it happened. Although the fire was major, we managed to douse it. Currently, we are making sure nobody is trapped. As a security measure, one fire engine and water tanker will be kept there," informed a brigade official on duty.
The fire was doused at around 9 am.
