<p>A fire broke out at Saraswati Bhavan on Lamington Road in Mumbai late Saturday night, with the blaze confined to a ground-floor godown of a ground-plus-one-storey building, according to the <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-fire-brigade-how-first-responders-handle-hundreds-of-monsoon-emergencies-23638551" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai Fire Brigade</a>.</p>
<p>The incident was reported at around 11.33 pm on September 5. The fire was confined to the godown on the ground floor of the G+1 structure.</p>
<h2>Fire brigade escalates response to Level-II</h2>
<p>The Mumbai Fire Brigade initially classified the incident as a Level-I fire at around 11.49 pm. The response was subsequently escalated to Level-II at around 12.40 am on September 6.</p>
<p>Fire brigade personnel, police officials, an emergency ambulance service and ward staff were mobilised to the site to respond to the incident.</p>
<h2>No injuries reported</h2>
<p>The fire was contained to the godown, and no injuries were reported in the incident.</p>
<h2>Fire breaks out in meter room of Navi Mumbai high-rise; none hurt</h2>
<p>In a separate incident, a fire broke out in the electric meter box room of a 23-storey <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/fire-at-residential-building-in-navi-mumbai-four-injured-23634053" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">residential building in Navi Mumbai</a> on Saturday morning, and no casualties were reported, officials said.</p>
<p>The blaze occurred at Beverly Park society on the Vashi-Belapur Palm Beach Road, they said.</p>
<p>Dense smoke from the meter box room on the ground floor of the building's "B" Wing rose to the eighth floor, an official said, adding that the fire was a result of a short circuit.</p>
<p>Prompt action by security personnel and the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Fire Services prevented injuries or loss of life.</p>
<p>Security guards on site initially attempted to contain the blaze using two fire extinguishers. Upon arrival, fire officials deployed two additional extinguishers and used a hose reel to douse the flames.</p>
<p>Due to the heavy buildup of smoke, firefighters safely evacuated residents up to the fourth floor as a precaution. A thorough inspection of the building up to the 18th floor confirmed that all occupants were safe and accounted for, the official said.</p>
