A fire broke out on a top floor flat of a 20-storey building in Goregaon East in Mumbai on Friday, though no one was hurt in the incident, an official said, reported news agency PTI.
One man was rescued from the blaze that broke out in flat number 2005 at 1 pm at Raheja Residency on Arunkumar Vidya Marg, the Mumbai Fire Brigade official informed, reported PTI.
"The fire was doused at 1:32 pm. It was confined to electrical wiring, installations, an AC unit, furniture, clothes, and other household articles. The cause of the blaze is being ascertained," he said.
Fire breaks out in Santacruz building
On June 25, a fire broke out at the Windsor Building located on CST Road in Santacruz (East), officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) said.
According to authorities, the incident was reported at 6:04 am on June 25. The blaze was confined to electric wiring, installations, furniture, server panels, panel batteries and office records within an area of approximately 1,000 to 1,500 square feet in the RMC office situated on the seventh floor of the basement-plus-ground-plus-eight-storey structure.
The floor was heavily smoke-logged due to the fire. The MFB declared a Level-1 fire alert at 6:32 am and mobilised resources promptly to contain the situation.
Along with the fire brigade, BMC ward staff, Mumbai Police, 108 ambulance services, and Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited (AEML) teams were deployed at the site.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in the incident.
Fire breaks out on fourth floor of 15-storey building in Ghatkopar
Meanwhile, a small fire broke out on the fourth floor of a 15-storey residential building, Orchid Residency, behind R-City Mall in Ghatkopar (West) on June 22. The Mumbai Fire Brigade received the information about the blaze at 12.40 pm. No injuries were reported in the incident.
An official from the Mumbai Fire Brigade told mid-day, "It was a small fire in a single room. We did not categorise it into any emergency response level as it was doused within a few minutes after the fire brigade reached the spot. We received a call about smoke being spotted at the building. Not much damage was caused due to the fire and no one was injured." The cause of the fire is not yet known.
