Bookmycab.com, the first &ldquo;call taxi&rdquo; service in Mumbai to book you regular black and yellow taxis / cool cabs; has launched an app for android phones.

It will enable instant cab bookings on the go, making the cab booking process even more convenient for customers. The company has more than 3,000 taxis registered in the city that covers the entire Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
The highlight of this new app is if there is no internet or if the internet is not working temporarily, you can still book a cab for yourself or others. Just click SEND when the app prompts "Not connected to the Internet, Use SMS to book a cab?" You will receive booking details and confirmation over SMS. You can book a cab for your friends, family members, with different phone numbers, using the same app.
Commenting on the Bookmycab phone application launch, Bookmycab.com CEO Avinash Gupta said, &ldquo;We have just made the regular black and yellow cabs and a/c cool cabs more accessible for the people of Mumbai. They can now book cabs on the go. We are proud to announce that we are perhaps the first taxi company globally to launch an app that works without internet and this should help ease the transportation problems of Mumbaikars&rdquo;.
The aim is to deliver a taxi at customer&rsquo;s doorsteps within 10 to 20 minutes across Mumbai. This is made possible with the help of technology which is an asset for the company. The service runs for 24 hours uses the GPS/GPRS enabled real time tracking technology in all its taxis to ensure timely availability and passenger safety.
When customer makes a call for booking a taxi the contact centre executive asks for a pick-up point and the destination which is passed to the taxi dispatch system (TDS). The TDS instantly locates nearby taxis, sends trip information and on approval from the taxi drivers sends confirmation note to the customers.
Bookmycab&rsquo;s mobile booking app is available for Android devices, and can easily be downloaded from their website for free of cost. Now, people can book a licensed cab with India's only government approved call taxi service for regular taxis.
