A 55-year-old doctor from Sahapur District in Palghar got a new lease of life when family of a 32-year-old man from Khar agreed to donate his heart after he was declared brain dead.
Through green corridor between Lilavati Hospital, Bandra and Fortis, Mulund, the retrieved heart was transported within 20 minutes. Interestingly, this is the first time in the history of the city that heart transplantation has been conducted on a medical practitioner.
