Mumbai: In a first, post offices get four creches for staff

Apart from two women in charge, the creches also have two women caretakers each, doctors on call, ready first aid service and teachers to impart basic lessons to the children above 2 years old

In a first of its kind effort, Mumbai Post Offices last week got four creche facilities for staff to keep them motivated at work.

“Following Section 11A, of the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017, that has introduced the provision, that any establishment which has 50 or more employees shall have the facility of a creche and inspired by the vision of gender equality of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India Post, Mumbai Region, as a part of “Amritkal” for the very first time inaugurated four creches in four zones of Mumbai city vis-à-vis Dadar, Vile Parle, Chembur and Borivali,” Postmaster General, India Post, Swati Pandey said.
