A 39-year-old jogger was attacked by a pet Rottweiler on the Carter Road promenade on June 8, leading to serious injuries to the genital area.

Handler shirks blame

The handler told the victim that he was only responsible for taking care of the dog and was not the owner. The Khar police registered an FIR against the handler and the owner of the dog on June 9, under Section 100 of the Maharashtra Police Act, and Sections 125, 125(B), 291, and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). “We have registered an FIR but haven’t arrested anyone yet. We are investigating the matter,” a police officer said.
