Mumbai lake levels see slight dip to 89.94 per cent, four reservoirs continue to overflow

Mumbai’s seven lakes supplying drinking water held 12,95,982 million litres, or 89.94% of total live storage, on August 3. Modak Sagar, Vihar and Tulsi remain full, while four reservoirs continue to overflow. Water stock is higher than the same period in both 2025 and 2024

Mumbai's seven lakes, which supply drinking water to the city, collectively held 12,95,982 million litres of water, or 89.94 per cent of their total live storage capacity, as of 6 am on Monday, August 3, according to the Hydraulic Engineer's Department at the Bhandup Master Control Centre.
