Mumbai likely to receive heavy rains next week, Yellow Alert issued for Monday

Rains have subsided in the city on Thursday after a moderate spell from the beginning of the week. However, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that rain activities could pick up pace from next week owing to the low-pressure area likely to form over Bay of Bengal.
A green alert has been issued till Sunday indicating low to moderate rainfall. However, IMD has issued a yellow alert on Monday for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad which means heavy rains accompanied with thunderstorms and lightening are very likely in isolated places.
