Who says it’s only the young who are jilted in love? On Sunday, the Oshiwara police arrested a 64-year-old man after his 50-year-old former lover accused him of rape. They had been lovers for 24 years, but he had not fulfilled his promise to marry her, nor had he followed through on other offers, the survivor alleged.
The woman is the vice-president on the board of a school in Andheri (West), while the accused is a director at the same school. During investigations, police found witnesses supporting the survivor’s claims, and discovered that the accused had revealing pictures of her and would use them to threaten her.
