Mumbai: Maharashtra Police's State Intelligence Department organises blood donation camp

Mumbai: Maharashtra Police's State Intelligence Department organises blood donation camp

The State Intelligence Department (SID) of Maharashtra Police organised a blood donation camp for their department to help cancer patients and Thalassemic children in association with Mumbai North Central District Forum (MNCDF).


The camp was conducted by Tata Memorial Hospital and supported by blood management NGO Kutch Yuvak Sangh.SID officials with NGO Kutch Yuvak Sangh


According to SID, a total of 60 units was collected from the SID officers which will help save 180 lives. The initiative was attended by SID Police Commissioner, Ashutosh Dumbre and blood was also donated by DCP Anil Paraskar, DCP Vishwas Pandhare and other officers of the department.

“Due to the surge of Omicron in January, Mumbai was facing a shortage of blood. Hence, we reached out to the Maharashtra Police SID Dept who came forward to help by donating blood for cancer patients and Thalassemic Children. Since covid hit us our forum has been working on medical emergencies, vaccination drives and initiatives to help citizens in need," said Adv Trivan Kumar Karnani, founder of citizen welfare forum, MNCDF.
