For homebuyers who have spent years chasing developers for delayed flats, a favourable ruling should end the struggle. But winning the case is only half the battle; getting the compensation is another.

Since its establishment in May 2017, MahaRERA has recovered R369.45 crore against compensation orders worth Rs  1037.86 crore, a recovery rate of about 45 per cent, leaving much still unpaid. Collections have accelerated, with around Rs 260 crore recovered between May 2017 and December 2025, followed by another Rs110 crore in 2026.
