A 35 year-old man lost his life in a freak incident after a portion of a building&rsquo;s parapet fell on him in Girgaum. The man, identified as Vaman Nerurkar, died on the spot, on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a report in <a href="http://mumbaimirror.indiatimes.com/mumbai/other/Man-walking-on-footpath-dies-after-parapet-falls-on-him/articleshow/55061082.cms" target="_blank">Mumbai Mirror</a>, the deceased was walking on the footpath when the parapet fell straight on his head. The victim was rushed to the Conwest and Manjula S Badani Jain hospital. Unfortunately, he was declared brought dead.
The BMC&rsquo;s disaster management cell sources informed <a href="http://mumbaimirror.indiatimes.com/mumbai/other/Man-walking-on-footpath-dies-after-parapet-falls-on-him/articleshow/55061082.cms" target="_blank">Mirror</a>, &ldquo;The workers were cutting down a tree. During the process, a cable wire that ran up to the building got entangled and created a strain on the building portion. Following this, the portion fell directly on the man&rsquo;s head.&rdquo; Doctors informed the paper that Nerurkar&rsquo;s cerebellum suffered serious injuries.
&ldquo;Nerurkar died because the blood supply to his brain had completely stopped,&rdquo; doctors informed Mumbai Mirror.
