Barely two days after cops registered a case against a 23-year-old for posting intimate images and videos of his ex-girlfriend on a pornography website, along with her mother’s contact number, Tulinj police arrested the accused on Saturday morning. The accused has been identified as Harshal Gaikwad, police sources said.
According to Tulinj police officials, Harshal was arrested from his residence in Airoli. “He has already been produced in court and has been remanded in police custody till December 6.”
Sources said that during investigation, Harshal revealed he’s a sound technician at a private company, th works on the background scores in Bollywood films. Police inspector and investigating officer Mahesh Patil said, “We will now be interrogating him.”
The victim and the accused became friends while they were studying in the same coaching class. They dated for a couple of years, and after their break-up, the accused started stalking the girl. In January this year, they had a fight after which he assaulted the girl. The victim then filed a complaint at Tulinj police station. A police officer said a non-cognisable case was registered against him but he was later released. Thereafter, he used the girl’s pictures to get back at her.
