Aarey police has launched a massive manhunt to nab a 25-year-old man who has been accused of raping a minor girl in Goregaon.
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when the man, yet to be identified, asked for a glass of water from the 14-year-old.
Though the survivor did not know the accused, he claimed to know her parents and presented himself in such a way that the minor believed him. As she went to the kitchen to bring a glass of water, the accused bolted the door from inside and forced himself upon her, in front of her siblings, aged 9 and 10.
Before leaving, he threatened the girl of dire consequences if she dared to go to the&nbsp; police. The minor, who is in Std X, shared her ordeal with her mother, a home guard at Andheri GRP. An FIR was lodged later that evening. &ldquo;We have registered the FIR under section 376 of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act (POCSO). We have drawn sketches of the accused,&rdquo; said an officer of the Aarey police station.
