Metro Line 2B milestone: MMRDA completes steel span launch over Kurla–Vidyavihar railway corridor

MMRDA has completed the installation of a major composite steel span over the Central Railway corridor between Kurla and Vidyavihar stations as part of Metro Line-2B (Mankhurd Mandale–DN Nagar) project

The operation, carried out between 1 am and 3 am, involved the precision placement of a 54.25-metre-long span comprising four composite steel girders with a combined weight of 252 metric tonnes.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) achieved a significant infrastructure milestone in the early hours of Sunday, successfully constructing a massive composite steel span over the Central Railway corridor between Kurla and Vidyavihar stations as part of the ongoing Metro Line-2B (Mankhurd Mandale-DN Nagar) project.
