Mumbai Metro One marks 12 years, crosses 125 crore ridership milestone

Mumbai Metro One Pvt. Ltd. (MMOPL), operator of Metro Line 1, on Sunday marked 12 years of operations, highlighting its evolution into one of the city’s most widely used public transport systems with over 125 crore commuter journeys since its launch in June 2014.
The metro corridor, which was Mumbai’s first, has recorded a peak single-day ridership of 5.79 lakh passengers and maintains a punctuality rate of 99.99 per cent, according to the operator. MMOPL also said the line has maintained a zero-fatality safety record since its inception.
